tomasstrom
I'm running Asus A8V Deluxe with 2*512 TWINX 3200XL (2-2-2-5-T1). My question is this: The "Auto" setting in BIOS detects (according to memtest latest version) this as 2-3-2-5. Forcing 2-2-2-5 is no problem and results in no errors. However, I am concerned why this is happening on Auto. Should they not detect as 2-2-2-5? Had some Kingston Hyper X (same timings) that detected correctly on this very same board. I have the lateset released BIOS (I think it's 1009) for A8V Deluxe and 3500+ 0.13 CPU. Suggestions to this issue? Just something for ASUS to fix in the BIOS or is it my rig? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 16, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 16, 2005 We do suggest you just set the timings manually and this is normal. I would also suggest setting the Dim Voltage to 2.8 Volts as well.
tomasstrom
We do suggest you just set the timings manually and this is normal. I would also suggest setting the Dim Voltage to 2.8 Volts as well. Running them at 2.7 now without a single hickup. Thank you very much. Then I don't have to worry about the SPD since it is normal. :D:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 16, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 16, 2005 Yes, we have always suggested setting the timings manually with our modules. Some MB's will just not set the timings that aggressive.
