DaMobster
Alright over the weekend I woke up (I keep my computer on 24/7) to my computer in the middle of a reboot... But the thing is that it was frozen, so at first I thought it was my motherboard because I hear the neo2 plat have a lot of problems, so I set it its fail safe defaults and restarted, and then I couldn't get past the BIOS screen on the bootup before it would freeze... I took a stick of ram out and it then worked fine. I tested both sticks seperately on memtest86+ v1.40 with stock speeds 2-2-2 5 1T, and one stick would get thousands of errors on the 1st test... The thing is I bought both sticks as a matched pair when they first came out Rev 1.1, and cost me around $330 even though they are much less now. I would love the have another matched pair, and I would like to know if I Could RMA them both since that is how I bought them? Also I have been very lucky and this is my first time ever RMAing a product and would like to know how you go about doing that? Thank you for all your time and help I really appreciate it. Sincerely, Sam
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 16, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 16, 2005 Can you tell me the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
DaMobster
I have a amd 3200+ @ 10x253 MSI neo2 plat newest BIOS memory divider set at 166 (210 mhz) @ 2-3-3 6 1T timings aggressive timings and everything else disabled Even when I set everything back to stock with the load/safe defaults I would still get freeze ups and thousands of errors in memtest86+ 1.40v. I tried different slots making sure it wasn't the motherboard, but nothing would work... If I have to RMA the stick could I RMA them both, and get another matched pair? I have never needed to do an RMA before, and have been happy with all my previous corsair ram.
