Marco82
Hi there, I recently purchased 512meg of extra ram for my current setup. Now the Ram i purchased matches my previous one which is "CMX512-3200C2 PRO". I am running an Athlon64 3000+, with a MSI K8T800 mainboard with that CMX512meg of ram. When i tried to upgrade from 512 to 1gig my system fails to boot, i have tried my new memory in place of the old one alone and it ran perfect so the memory isn't faulty. I have also tried placing the memory in each different slot but to no avail! I really am at a wits end as i really dont have a clue when it comes to altering the BIOS etc if needed. Thanks in advance for your suggestions, Marco

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 15, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 15, 2005 Marco, With this MB the modules would need to be exactly matched! Both in part# and in revision. Did you just purchase these 2 modules?
Marco82
Yes i purchased them both, but not at the same time... As i said in my first post my second ram module was meant as an upgrade from 512 to 1gig. I purchased my upgrade maybe 8months later. Is there no other way around this?? Thanks again
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 15, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 15, 2005 If you can find another use for the older module I would just send the new one back and order a Twinx set of modules. Or you would need to match the older module in both part# and revision. If that is not an option, you are welcome to request an RMA from us but you would need to send the request by email and make it clear that the modules do not match it's not that one is failing. This is not a warranty issue, but you can ask. Please send us a email with a copy of the form or all of your info name address and phone# and the Module part# and copy the link to this post and email it to Rma@corsairmemory.com. If after 1 day or 24 hours excluding weekends you do not get the rma please email the same to warranty@corsairmemory.com and we will help to resolve it.
