Scimitar problems with CUE

Recommended Posts

Hello, Let me start off with saying i dont know much about gaming mice and i dont even know if i should post it here.

Recently I've had lots of problems with my 6 months old Scimitar rgb mouse.

The lighting of the mouse randomly stops working and resets to the basic colors and the cursor lags/freezes every few minutes.

I've tried some things to fix it but it didn't help:

-Reinstalled the Corsair Utility Engine.

-Change the polling rate.

-Save lighting settings.

-Using without lighting effects

I'm not sure if anyone can help me with this but i would appreciate any suggestions. Maybe I'm just dumb and I'm doing something wrong that causes it but this is all I had to say.

Thanks in advance.

you did it correctly. You had a lot of scimitar related errors, some of which are like this:

There were a couple other things that sounded like problems, but I suspect the marked as slow startup is a bad sign. There may be a factory reset, you may need to open a support ticket with corsair. they'll probably walk you through thievery you already tried and then tell you some magical combo on plug in that will reset it.

Even if it feels futile, this may be your best bet as they sometimes will have better insight.

You dont have it plugged into a hub or the polaris or st100 or a front panel correct? You tried a different usb straight onto the motherboard? Maybe even a usb2? Does enable legacy support in the bios under usb settings help at all? Mobo bios updates available?

Also do you have a steam controller plugged in? Others reported this issue causing immense lag at certain points. I found very few interactions myself, but everyone's hardware and exact software is different.

I tried a few suggestions that you said and surprisingly the lighting problems and lag issue has been solved, I dont know if it will come back tho.

Unfortunately, instead a new problem occurred, the mouse disconnects every 5-10 minutes while playing games and it makes it unresponsive for a few seconds. It immediatly reconnects tho, but its still annoying that it freezes while reconnecting.

I have no idea why this happened while the other problems got solved...

Maybe the cable could be broken but I dont hope so.

Btw, the only thing I havent tried is to enable legacy support in the bios under usb settings or check for mobo bios updates, which idk if it would help with this.

Anyways, thanks allot for your help, I really hope you could still help me with this other problem if thats not annoying to ask for.
