lmina
I have a Gigabyte GA-8I915P Duo Pro with corsair TWINX1024-3200XLPT, but I must decrease the frequency of RAM to 333 because at normal frequency (400) the system was instable. How must I do to setup the RAM at 400 and have the system stable ?

How must I do to setup the RAM at 400 and have the system stable ? Maybe it's just a setting you need to modify and/or fix. First tell us about your computer knowledge : Do you know anything about the BIOS & are you comfortable about going in there to make changes? First tell us about your computer knowledge : Do you know anything about the BIOS & are you comfortable about going in there to make changes? Yes, I know the BIOS, and I decreased the frequency of RAM by changing some settings. The actual settings in the page titled "MB Intelligent Tweaker" are: Robust graphics booster: Auto C.I.A.2: Disabled CPU host clock control: Disabled Cpu host frequency (Mhz): 200 PCI-E frequency to CPU: Auto Memory frequency for: 1.66 Memory frequency (Mhz): 333 DIMM overvoltage control: Normal PCI-E overvoltage control: Normal CPU voltage control: Normal Normal CPU Vcore: 1.3875 If I change the setting "Memory frequency for" to "Auto" and then automatically the "Memory frequency (Mhz)" change to "400" at the next reboot the system crash continuously. What settings can I use to make the system stable at the frequency of 400 Mhz for RAM ??
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 14, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 14, 2005 Please set the Dim Over Voltage control to +.2 Volts and then test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org. If you get errors with one module, then I would suggest we get them replaced. But if you get errors with both modules I would suggest testing them in another system if you can. lmina
Thanks for the answer. With the new settings I have tested the modules one at a time and both. I have always obtained errors, while to the frequency of 333 I not have any errors with both modules. What can I do ?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 15, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 15, 2005 XMS3200C2 would be rated at Cass 2.5-3-3-6 at DDR400 and with the MB you posted A7N8X-E and a 3200+ CPU please set the FSB jumper to pins 2-3 and then cleat the bios and install the modules in slots 2-3 and set the timings and voltage manually. lmina
Sorry, but my MB is a Gigabyte GA-8I915P Duo Pro and not a A7N8X-E.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 16, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 16, 2005 O.K. No problem, please let me know if you have any questions!
lmina
The problem is the same of the first post, and I have already tested the modules with memtest and the setting that you suggested, but in any cases I had errors. I would want to know if I must continue to use the modules at 333 Mhz or if I can make others test with others settings. Thanks
