ChronoTS
Hi all. I have just purchased the model in the topic (512x2), i have set the voltage to 1.8 and the timings to 3-5-5-8 when the normal timings are 3-4-4-8. Even so, my pc still crashes with blue screens. I know that this model is just too much 4 my motherboard but i hope there is a way to make them work someway. The banks are in dual channel 200mhz because my max fsb is 400mhz. :p: I have tryed single channel but still crashes. If i set the voltage of the memory to 1.6 i can work only for 10 minutes before a crash... with 1.7 15-20... with 1.8 it worked 5-6 hours.... But i just won't crash ^_^'' Sorry for the grammar mistakes and thanx 4 your support!!
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 14, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 14, 2005 Can you tell me the CPU speed that you have and it's FSB as well in your system? In addition please tell me if you have the latest BIOS installed for your MB, and what BIOS settings have you set for both CPU and memory (besides the timing) and any performance setting? AMD XP 3000+ @ 2100~ mhz fsb cpu= 166 BIOS just upgraded at the first crashes. CPU settings is 13x166 Memory timings now in use: 4-5-5-8 Voltage: 1.8 All other settings are at default. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 23, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 23, 2005 Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB and load Setup/Optimized default settings, and try the following BIOS settings; TwinX1024 or TwinX512-4000 CPU Freq: 166 MHz (333 FSB) System Performance: User Define Memory Frequency: 100% Resulting Frequency: 166 MHz (333 FSB) Memory Timing: User Define SDRAM CAS Latency: 3T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 4T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 4T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8T DDR Reference Voltage: 2.7 Volts AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI (9200 or 9600) or NVIDIA (5200 or 5700) then 1.6 Volts suggested!* All other settings are motherboards defaults Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
