Wanderica
Hi folks. I have a question or 2 that I'm sure gets asked a lot around here, but I need a bit of help. I have a brand new hardline watercooled build coming up as soon as my motherboard gets here (on preorder now at Newegg). I'm running a front and a top radiator, and decided to cool these with 5 Corsair ML Pro RGB fans. 2 on each radiator, and one to exhaust excess VRM heat. This is all on me as I didn't properly research these fans before I bought them. I was mainly concerned with static pressure, but Corsair has made these slightly more involved. The case is a mITX Fractal Design Nano S, and I don't have a ton of room in this case for fan controllers and extra RGB headers. It is crucial that I can control the fan speed, however. I had planned on doing this via a splitter cable with a 4 pin molex to supply additional power to my mobo's case fan header, and using the motherboard's RGB header as well, so I didn't buy the kit. I bought individual fans for less money. Now I'm reading that these Corsair fans really like having all the extra Corsair goodies to work properly. Bottom line: Will my original plan work? If not, what else do I need to buy in order to control the speed and RGB output of 5 Corsair ML120 Pro RGB fans?
Wanderica
After further research, I've decided to return these fans and go with a different brand. These Corsair fans won't work with this build without considerable additional expense. Too bad Corsair doesn't make a product that supports Asus Aura. That would solve my issues. Oh well. Thanks to any who read.
