VGAglory
Just recently purchased the new AX1200i power supply to replace my RM850x. Rather than unravelling all my power supplies, can I use the RX850x cables on my AX1200i or will I need to replace all cables? I would prefer not to unravel everything!! Please can someone advise before I make my system go BANG. :)
Corsair Employees Corsair Hotpot Posted April 23, 2018 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 23, 2018 Hi there! The AX1200i and RM850x unfortunately use different cables so you would have to replace all the cables. A pain I know...:( sorry about that! DevBiker
Well, isn't just the ATX 24 pin and PCIe? According to this http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=177124 "All AXi" use the same SATA/peripheral connectors as the RM series. The older AX1200 (no i) uses all unique cables ... but not the AXi???
Corsair Employees Corsair Calico Jack Posted April 25, 2018 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 25, 2018 The AX series has it's own cables that were produced when it was first manufactured. The AXi uses Type 3 cables. The RMx series uses Type 4 cables. The SATA cables and Peripheral cables are fairly interchangeable, but all of the other cables are specific to the PSU which uses them. Do not reuse the old cables.
