rzn6jw
I connected the pump lead to CPU_FAN and in the BIOS, I set the CPU_FAN to Voltage control at 100%. Now my pump's running at about 1920 RPM. Is this normal for the H80i v2?
c-attack
Yes, that is normal for balanced pump mode. It should never be lower than that. Performance pump mode will be around 2900-3000. This is the point we were trying to make in the other thread. Edited April 22, 2018 by c-attack
rzn6jw
Thanks. I had the pump lead plugged into the CPU_FAN/PUMP connector. Moved it over to the CPU_FAN connector and set the connector to 100% in BIOS. Only reason I noticed this is because of the install advice on this forum. It was never mentioned in the install booklet that came with the cooler.
c-attack
Yes, this is the most common misstep when setting up the cooler. Correction to the above is the slowest pump speed (2000 rpm) is “balanced”. The quiet pump mode is only on the new Pro coolers. Regardless, you should not hear the pump at 2000 rpm.
