ASUS P4B533V and corsair CMX512-3200PT

Need some help,

Have an ASUS P4B533V with two sticks of Corsair memory

a CMX512-3200PT

and

a CMX512-3200C2

But I can't get the machine to boot with both sticks installed, either work fine in dimm slot1, but not two, the MB book say with double sided sticks you must use dimm slot 1 and 2 (can't use 3), tried that, no help.

I think the CMX512-3200PT is a C2.5 so I set the bios timmings for the slower stick, but most of the time it won't even post.

Maybe dimm slot2 is faulty?

Are there any issues known with those two types of sticks working together? or with the ASUS P4B533V MB?

Mark.

You're mixing 2 entirely different sticks, which isn't recommended. They may work together, but it may take some finese. Try the timings of the 3200 (3-3-3-8) or loosen them up even more, to (3-4-4-8).

Timings for the CMX512-3200:

CAS Latency: 3

RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3

Row Precharge (tRP): 3

Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8

Just for information's sake:

Timings for the CMX512-3200C2:

CAS Latency: 2 on Intel (2.5 on AMD)

RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3

Row Precharge (tRP): 3

Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6
