Why has CUE 2 got less funtionality than CUE 1

Recommended Posts

Firstly the layout is so much worse (this being a personal preference). CUE 1 is significantly simpler in its layout and therefor doing stuff within the software such as key reassignment or macros I find are significantly easier in CUE 1.

Secondly which is a big gripe for me. DPI can only be changed in increments of 100. Can someone explain this? In CUE 1 I can set me mouse DPI to be any whole number just by typing it in. Whereas in cue 2 if you attempt to type 550 for example (the DPI is have been using since my original M65) is will automatically assign the DPI to 600. Why is this the case? Not sure why you took away specific DPI's which I could set on the standalone software on my original M65 and the ones I can set through CUE 1 for my M65 RGB.

Another example is with macros. Firstly setting up a macro in CUE 2 is alot more confusing for me since you have replaced text of what each action did with an icon instead. I assume this was done because instead of opening a new window for when you make a macro which is what happens in CUE 1 meaning there's a whole windows worth of options, macros in CUE 2 stay in the main window in the bottom left s there just isn't the space for words of what an action would do. An icon tells me nothing for the most part and means I would need to remember what each icon does.

Ontop of this the macros then have less functionality. In CUE 1 you can set a macro to repeat while holding, repeat when you press it until you press the button again and also repeat x amount of times all from the macro menu. Also allowing you to have delays between when it does repeat the action from a set amount of time or from a random amount of time between 2 numbers. In CUE 2 not only do you need to go out of your way to enable the advanced tab just to even enable to repeat tab, but it then only lets your repeat a macro x amount of times. WHY!?.

The best thing about a corsair keyboard over every other keyboard in the same price range is the fully programmable keys, macros ect for every single button on the keyboard so why have you then shot yourselves in the foot by updating the software to be worse. Can you guys please update your software to atleast be on PAR with CUE 1 in terms of your macros and your mouse software bit of CUE 2 to be on par with the standalone M65 software/CUE 1.

I do agree with some of your points about the Advanced mode in particular. Corsair did come out with a CUE 3 if you will, called iCUE. It merges the advanced and normal modes together while also adding in components controls. I'd say give it a shot and see if it works out for you. Link should be accessible through Corsair's website.

Btw, you should be able to have the same functions (repeat while holding, and repeat continuously) in CUE 2.

Hi JC glitch master, in regards to your post comment about less functionality, I think what corsair is doing is that they have some bags left over from the previous software versions that they are trying to work out so I think what they’re drying to do is get the IQ latest software solved and stable and then you will probably see further patches down the road that will probably re-incorporate the original options that were used to seeing. I hope this helps
