P5GDC Deluxe and VS512MB400C3

I attempted to install more memory into my P5GDC Deluxe and could not for the life of me get the memory to work. I tried every possible combination but to no avail. The two chips are the SAME model and everything. They both work singularly by themselves but when I add the other chip the system just will not boot or anything. Any help can give would be appreciated. The model of the memory chips is CORSAIR VS512MB400C3.

Please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and see that they are both set to Cass 3.

I ran the mem test and it passed in both CAS 2.5 and 3. However, I still have problems when I install the second chip. The motherboard just doesn't beep, boot up or anything; it just sits the doing nothing. Once I go back to a single chip everything works fine.

I am returning the VS512MB400C3 to my vendor. Please advise what model memory chips are comptable in my motherboard with 2x512meg or 1x1gig chips. Also let me know what slots they should be plugged into.

Thanks!

In http://www.memtest.org it should show the timings the memory is set to. If you have an older version of VS512MB400C3 they may actually be Cass 2.5-3-3-8. Please check it and see what the timings are getting set to for each module.

I've sent back the 512 chip; I've decided to go with DD2 instead. Can you tell me what model CORSAIR DD2 1 gig memory chip I should get with the premise that I would be adding another 1 gig chip in the near future and both will need to work. Thanks!

I have an P5GDC Deluxe motherboard.
