Ertman
Greetings: Delta L MS-6570-Overclock and max memory settings. I just upgraded my memory and want to maximize it and my board. I have a Delta-L model MS-6570, running an AMD 2600. I have the FSB overclocked to 180, any higher and I have to reset the bios. I just purchased a pair of Corsair XMS Twinx1024-3200C2PT, each at 512. I have the memory in the 2nd and 3rd slots for dual DDR. Vid card is a Leadtek 6800GT 256mb, running stock for now. Also, Thermaltake case with 480watt powersupply and heatsink CPU, usually run about 42c. I have several questions: Am I overclocking this board correctly? I have only upped the FSB, I have not touched any other settings. I would like to maximize my memory, are they in the correct slots? With this MB in mind, what settings can I use in bios to increase the performance of the memory, and is doing that worth the trouble? Thank you in advance for any help. Wired
Sounds vaguely familiar... U guys used to play CS WAYYYYYY back in the day?
Ertman
No, we started as regular players on the MOB clan servers and grew into our own identity. Get it the MOB clan so we became their arch enemys the FBI? Anyway..... Seems like to memory is doing better. In BIOS I changed the memory settings to 3, 3, 6 and 2.5 as I kept reading about those settings with this memory in other similiar boards. The only thing I still don't understand is what multiplyer to set it to, or to change it at all if it don't make that big a difference. Also if I up the FSB past 180 no boot, I have to clear bios and reset ALL my settings. As I understand it the board is capapble of so much more, so I am doing something wrong. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 11, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 11, 2005 You might check the CPU multiplier and see if you can change it to like 9 or 10 and see if that helps and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.8 Volts as well. Thank you so much I will try that. As I have the MSI Delta L MS-6570 board listed with the nvidia nforce2 chip so as the overclocking article says the AMD 2600 is 333 with a FSB of 400, yet I can't get one step above 180 fsb or it won't boot, which is odd as at 180 it is stable, no problems. I will try your settings, and again, thank you. Ertman

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 11, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 11, 2005 This is a chipset limitation. If the FSB of your CPU is 400 For Intel and 100 MHz for AMD, the memory speed supports only DDR 266. If the FSB of your CPU is 533 For Intel and 133/166 MHz for AMD, the memory speed supports DDR 266/333 If the FSB of your CPU is 800 MHz for Intel and 200 MHz for AMD, the memory speed supports DDR 333/

I don't understand your post. The memory I got is straight from the reccomended page via Corsair for my motherboard. What are you saying? Also, do I reap anymore benefits by filling the 3rd slot with the same memory, or something else at 512mb?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 14, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 14, 2005 You have a 2600+ which runs at 166 MHz or 333MHZ DDR, so you would need to run the memory in sync with your CPU or it will cause a bottleneck in the chipset. And I would not suggest adding a third module you may have to run with more relaxed settings and the added memory would give hardly any benefit. mefang
I have been expermenting all weekend with my 6570 which happens to be K7N2G-ILSR very similar to yours, I believe.I have the Barton 2500+ and Twinx PC4000 512x2(Tested good at 500mhz by sombody somewhere)but it's close enough match to compare.Anyway,it's running at 2328mhz up from stock which is 1833mhz So here are my bios settings; Under Advanced Chipset Features system performance=manual cpufsb = 195 cpuinterface = highperformance fsb/dram ratio = by spd (or you could try a ratio of 1to1 instead of spd) current dram clock = 195mhz (which when running ddr in slots 1/3 or 2/3 will equal 390mhz) timings = by spd 7 4 4 3.0 Then over to Freq and Volt AGP clock control = default AGP Clock value is 66 dram volt = 2.7 (im gonna try increasing this in a minute) cpuratio = X12 (so I should clock in at 2340 instead of 2328 since 12*195=2340)oh well.. cpu vcore select = 1.8(as i was going along making my increases in settings i would have to increase voltage to avoid the b.s.o.d.and it helped windows boot quicker too. So there you go I hope it helps.I would recomendstarting with your cpufsb at 166 and increase the multiplyer as much as you care to starting at11.5 then 12 then 12.5 then 13.Obviously saving and b ooting into windows after each increment increase. If you have trouble getting windows to load go back and increase cpu vcore one step at a time it should help.unless of course your machine goes eeeeeeeeeeeeeepppp going into post which it will do if yourdram clock is far off from the cpufsb they should match i believe.I'm new to this oc'ing so im kinda 'shootin' from the hip' myself Do me a favor and tell me what your result is when you multiply by 13.For some reason it makes mine run at like 865 mhz. Weird. Oh yeah you need to watch your cpu temp carfully while doing all this.I have the good fortune of liquid cooling so i don't sweat it but you need to keep a close eye on yours and note the increases as you go along.
