H80i v2 not showing in Link

Yesterday, all of a sudden, my h80i v2 stopped showing in Link. I didn't update or change anything, it just stopped working. I have reinstalled link several times, disabled and enable the corsairusb in device manage, uninstalled/removed the device and reinstalled it, tried to update drivers, restarted dozens of times, checked the connections on the usb header and h80i, and every other suggested fix i have seen listed on the numerous threads and sites i have visited while researching this problem.

I have attached the error log from the clink4 folder, it's quite large and I don't understand anything from it other than it's failing to connect. I am very confused because it has worked just fine ever since I plugged it in up until yesterday. The only change is that I installed a 1080ti ftw3 and updated evga's precision oc program. things also got pretty hot in the case for a while, I believe Link failed to recognize the pump and then my cooling settings were not applied any longer ( aggressive fan curves).

After it disappeared I had messed around with the program and device manager and the h80i showed up again for a little while, I was able to change the setting on the fan and get the led color back, but then everything went away again, but the led color stayed the same.

any more info that I could provide to help figure out what is wrong? I have looked everywhere for answers...

EDIT:

System specs:

i7 7700k OC'd to 5.1 with 4.8 cache @ 1.37v

G.skill ripjaws V 16GB x1 @ 3200 MHz

EVGA 1060 6gb (I dunno which one, the cheapest one)

msi z270-a pro

On a long shot, I remembered a video game script extender that wouldn't run properly needing to be set to run as administrator in the compatibility tab and did this for the corsair link program. As soon as I restarted the program the h80i v2 showed up. I will keep you guys posted if this fix continues to work, or if it effs up.

well, after restarting the h80i v2 is no longer showing again. i dunno what to do or check at this point. I see that the error log did not attach to my first post so I will paste the last few lines of it below in case anyone who knows what it means wants to look at it. the whole rest of the file looks like that, just with different timestamps.

Try restarting the driver in Device Manager.

What you are seeing here is that the Link Service cannot connect to the pump over USB. Do you have any other monitoring tools running? How about EVGA XOC? (Hint: Fill out your system details ... it's super-helpful).

yes, I have XOC running. I saw a thread from a long time ago somewhere that said to uninstall the device and driver and then uninstall link, then reinstall an older version (4.7.0.77) and that it would work. It has been working through 4 restarts so far. I'll let ya'll know if this keeps working.

interestingly, with this older version the device name is differenct in device manager and the driver is different as well.

i will post my specs in the first post for future reference.

XOC has serious, known issues with the Corsair coolers. Their RGB Sync "feature" attempts to take control of the cooler. That's what is causing the issues. Link is trying to connect to the cooler but XOC is already connected. Only one app at a time can access the hardware.

EVGA really shouldn't be playing these games - taking over control of another vendor's device is pretty rude, IMHO.
