tyson
I have an nforce ultra 2 with dual channel memory. Do I have to have twinx ram in order to use this option? Or is there a way I can get two sticks of Corsair XMS PC3200C2 to run in dual channel mode? Because you always help, Thanks ahead of time :):
CMC_SAVAGE
RAM does'nt have to be TWINX to run in DC mode. Any RAM will run DC if the MOBO supports it. However, they should be of the same version, 1.2, 2.1, ect. This is a general rule when mixing individual sticks.
jsteel44
Yea the Twinx is guranteed and tested in DC mode, but other RAM can and does do dual channel if they get along with each other. As CMC said it's best they be the same version of the same model at least.
CandyKid
What is Dual-Channel Memory? I think that read will answer your questions. PLUR CK FYI, best way to get non-matched modules to run in DC is to loosen latencies (CAS 2 goes to 2.5, etc) and increase the VDimm by 0.1 or so. Not garaunteed, but might help.
