Charging the Dark Core with a Samsung Charging pad?

Hi there,

as i was browsing for a new mouse i found the Dark Core RGB and read that it uses Qi charging so i was wondering if my Phone charger (EP-PG950) would work (it uses Qi Standard as the product page says).

And i would like to know wich Dark core i have to get because there are 2 on the website one with a Qi pad and one without (don't know the difference).

Would be a great to know because the MM1000 that i am looking at has no RGB:D: so i might get the MM800 aswell

You want the SE model ($89 US). Any standard Qi charging pad should work. The non-SE model is the same mouse, just without Qi charging. If you get the mouse, and it's firmware 0.22, update the firmware using USB2.0. After that, you can use USB3.

I have the same convertible charger and it will work but it's kind of fiddly. The Qi antenna on the Dark Core seems to be at the back of the mouse. This mean that you have to have the rear portion of the mouse positioned over the center of the charging pad for it to work. With a little practice you can get it right most of the time, but it's still a bit of a pain.

Corsair should've relocated the sensor to the back so the charging antenna could've been positioned in the center of the mouse. As it is now any charging pad is going to have the same issue and no charging stand will work without something to hold the mouse up at the correct height.

Also, on mine at least, there's a problem with the mouse reconnecting after charging wirelessly. Sometimes it won't even turn on until I put it back on the pad a couple of times. It's probably a firmware glitch.

Overall I don't think the Dark Core was well thought out. Hopefully Corsair will get it right on their next try.
