CUE causing game freezes

Hi, sorry I'm a little new here but please be patient with me and apologies in advance if I'm going on a bit.

 

I've used corsair products for the best part of the past 14 or so years. Usually my issues have been simple straight forward rma's and I've honestly never had an issue beyond this. This one has me stumped.

 

So i recently upgraded my Corsair k90 to a corsair k95 rgb, i already had Cue installed because of my headset the Corsair void rgb wireless. I've had CUE installed for a long time without issues but here's where my problems began.

 

Since swapping out the k90 for the k95 rgb keyboard I've been having game freezes/crashes. I really thought it was software related so i reinstall windows a few days ago but the problem still persists. Always the same crash, screen freezes and i can still hear game sounds.

So i tested majority of my hardware i could made sure all drivers were reinstalled and such without luck. So i reformatted my system and again and reinstalled windows this time installing just the bare minimum programs, I installed uplay and tried Rainbow six siege... no crashes. Installed CUE then tried again, crashed on my first game second round. Uninstalled CUE and tried the game again no crashes! Was able to play for an hour without issues.

 

It has to be CUE, if i re-install it I'll still get the same game freeze. I'm completely stumped as this was fine before the keyboard upgrade. Anyone have any advice or a possible fix i can try?

If you have not done so already, put in a support ticket with Corsair so that they can attempt to reproduce the issue.

Thanks Toasted. To be honest i thought someone would offer a simple fix suggestion :( Looking around this issue seems quite frequent with others using cue and trying to game and having freezes or crashes on various games and steam etc.

 

I'll raise a Support ticket and see if i can help Corsair out by providing any info they need to reproduce the issue.

It's sad that all the extra functionality of their peripherals is tied into this crappy software, as now I am unable to use the macros on my keyboard/it locks to default lighting as I cannot use a gamepad and the keyboard with their software/HID devices at the same time (hardlocks the game until I either unplug the controller or keyboard).

I was just searching for R6 Siege lighting profiles because I purchased the K70 LUX a few days ago. I play that game religiously. My Logitech G910 keys are trash so I wanted to switch to Corsair and I can't believe this problem I am reading about.

 

There must have been a fix by now. Right? I can't to such a fancy, high expensive keyboard only to have this problem. OMG man

Well I got my K70 LUX RGB last week. Thankfully I have no issues. Using the early access CUE beta software. I have Steam running almost constantly along with UPlay.

I also use a PS3 Controller via BT that is always active with some software my brother installed that runs as a service with each startup.

Multiple User Accounts are logged in for 2 to 3 people at a time. We all have different lighting profiles for the keyboard along with game specific profiles that all work as they should.

 

I have always had some USB changes made in my BIOS, since USB 3 wouldn't benefit me. Maybe others can try it.

 

I have an ASUS Maximux VI Formula (Intel Z87):

Legacy USB Support - ENABLED

Intel xHCI Mode - DISABLED

EHCI Hand-off - DISABLED

Rainbow Six Siege crashed randomly a lot and to fix it all I did was update CUE to version 2.24.50.
