Pepeto Posted February 1, 2018 Share Posted February 1, 2018 Hello everyone. I currently have a seasonic 1000w platinum power supply (SS-1000XP) with custom sleeved cables. I would like to buy an ax 1600i, but I have read that some cables have capacitors: I was just wondering about making existing cables fit to news psu from Corsair. Do I have add capacitors to my custom cables? Can I give normal cables (without capacitors)? What do you think about it? The power supply will lose a lot on it? DevBiker Posted February 1, 2018 Share Posted February 1, 2018 You cannot use the cables from your previous PSU with the Corsair PSU. The pinouts from the PSU are likely to be completely different and you have a good chance of causing a short circuit, resulting in lovely, fragrant blue smoke and/or melted wiring. As far as resources for sleeving you should check out the Modder's inc page. When you get around to finishing your cables you should post in the mod section of our forum! DangerClose Posted February 2, 2018 Share Posted February 2, 2018 I love my CableMod cables! Bought a full set of their Pro cables for my AX1600i. They did incredible work and they did a beautiful job on the capacitor install. I like that they installed them near the back of the cable instead of at the connection end for my GPU / 24pin.
