ketma
I received a pair of sleeved Type 4 PCI-E cables as a gift. Can these be used in place of my Type 3 PCI-E cables? My PSU is a HX750i
DevBiker
No. HXi series uses Type 3.
vkon15
I believe for 8 pin PCI-E the cables are interchangeable between type 3 and type 4. Looking at http://www.overclock.net/forum/17973-cables-sleeving/1420796-repository-power-supply-pin-outs.html, the pin out is the same for type 3 and type 4 models. DevBiker
According to Corsair's Cable Compatibility Chart (http://www.corsair.com/en-us/landing/psu-cable-compatibility), Type 3 and Type 4 are different and not interchangeable. Considering that this will be powering an expensive GPU, I wouldn't risk it. But that's just me and I'm a crusty old man.
Corsair Mike
Hi Ketma, The type 4 and type 3 PCIE and EPS cables are the same pin out and you can use them interchangeably. Those are the only ones you can do that with. So enjoy your cables.
