bradcomstock
Hi. I have 2 sticks of CMX512-3200C2 in a Shuttle Reflexion XPC (FB61RV2). I am running Award BIOS ver FB61RS0C. One stick of the memory seems to cause WinXP to crash immediatley upon bootup, both by itself and with my second stick in. With just the good stick in by itself WinXP is stable and runs just fine. I've tried swapping the memory between the slots and get the same results. One stick causes WinXP (and other programs) to crash. However, I ran memtest on the memory and didn't get any errors within several passes. Are there certain bios settings that I need to try? I run them with the stock default settings. (SPD - 2,7,3,3, frequency set to auto)
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted February 4, 2005 Corsair Employee Share Posted February 4, 2005 Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts and then test the suspect module with http://www.memtest.org and lets make sure. If you do still get errors then please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! bradcomstock
I set voltage as suggested and retested the RAM with memtest. The good stick still shows as good. The bad stick started registering errors in memtest. I will follow the RMA request instructions. Thanks.
