Jodokall
Hey guys. I've got a problem with my 4 sticks of Corsair XMS 512MB PC3200C2PT. My slots are full, and I've got the sticks currently running at 2.75V at 2T with timings of 2.5-3-3-7, running at 200mhz clock speed. Now I had to manually adjust the clock speed to this value as the board defaults to 166, but I some games still are not stable (EQ2 most notably). Any suggestions? The system info is as follows: AMD Athlon64 3500+ Winchester (defaults) MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum (BIOS rev 1.30) 2x Corsair TwinX1024 PC3200C2PT 1GB RAM (total of 2GB in 4 slots) ATI Radeon X800XT PE
Wired
What is the revision of each stick? How To Read the Memory Label Loosen up the timings. TwinX memory is only rated @ their speeds with one pair running, not 2. Also, it's lowering the FSB because of a design feature. It's putting increased load on the memory controller by running 4 sticks, and as such is trying to relax a bit.
Jodokall
What kind of timings would you recommend for the 4 sticks at 200? Also what voltage would you recommend? Thanks.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 4, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 4, 2005 I would suggest Cass 3-3-3-8 with 4 modules and set the Dim Voltage to 2.75 Volts as well.
Jodokall
Hmm, tried 3-3-3-8 at 200mhz, couldn't even get ingame this time...the system just bluescreened and immediately reset. Tried loosening the timings even more, same deal. Gonna try changing the AGP aperature to see if that works in a minute. Any other suggestions? edit: Just tried setting the AGP aperature to 128, changed AGP freq to 67 (apparently required for any overclocking), and had settings at 3-3-4-11. This time the game ran for a while until crashing back to desktop, so I ran 3dMark03; got through the first test and froze up. Anything else I can try?
