Compatibility 16GB Kit with 8 GB Kit

Hi all!

So I recently bought 2x4GB Vengeance DDR4 2333 MHz for my new gaming PC (sorry but they are way too pricy right now to go up to 16 GB :D )

I had plenty of issues with my computer since then and went to an IT-Store. They confirmed that actually BOTH RAM's were broken even though memtest did not show any issues when I tested the configuration.

Lucky for me, they sold me a pretty cheap 8 GB 2666 MHz from a 16GB bundle.

Now I wonder: Do I need to buy the exact same 8 GB RAM from another bundle to use it in my system and in dualchannel mode? (CMK16GX4M2A2666C16R)

Or can I simply buy a normal 8 GB RAM? (CMK8GX4M1A2666C16R)

Thanks for your response.

p.s.: I know you won't like the question and might not answer, but when will these ridiculously high RAM prices go down again? :D

They shouldn't be breaking up a memory kit like that. Each stick will run fine on its own, but there's a reason memory's sold in kits - to ensure compatibility. There's no way to guarantee that another 8 GB module will play well with that one.
