Keg
Ram Guy!!! I just purchased 2x512 3200C2PT from zipzoomfly.com I set the bios according to your instructions on a post from yesterday. However when installing I noticed the heat spreader clips are bent on both chips as well as the heat spreaders themselves. I compared them to the 3200LLPTs I pulled out of the machine and they are damaged. The chips are in the machine and running. I am concerned the they actual chips may have been switched. These were to be retail chips. Yes the Package was opened. I intend to send back to zipzoomfly for replacement ASAP however is there away to test them to see if they are really Corsair chips??? This really PISSES me off quite frankly and since I havent purchased much from zipzoomfly.com I will probably cease use with them. However I would like to know if the chips were switched. Wired
Did they come sealed? ZZF's got a good rep IMHO. If you run CPU-Z, you can check what's in the SPD settings for the name in them.
Keg
Negative they were not sealed... Thanks for the help...

Keg
Thanks for the tip. I forgot all about CPU-Z. It shows to be proper memory and speeds. I am on the machine and have been gaming on it all nite and it appears to be running propperly. By the way I have the clock cylcles set to 4 in the bios. Should it be set to 8? I will straightin the spreaders and clips out I and if they look OK then no harm no foul.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 4, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 4, 2005 Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB and load Setup/optimized default settings, and try the following BIOS settings; TwinX1024 or TwinX512-3200C2 Advanced/Jumper Free AI over clocking: Manual CPU Freq: 200 DRAM Clock: 400 MHz Memory or Dim Reference voltage: 2.75 Volts System performance: AUTO AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI (9200 or 9600) or NVIDIA (5200 or 5700) then 1.6 Volts suggested!* Advanced/Chipset Configure Dram timing by SPD: Disabled/User define SDRAM CAS Latency: 2T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T SDRAM Burst Length: 8 Memory Acceleration Mode: Auto USB Legacy Support: Disabled All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
