mispulpfiction
MB - GA-7N400 Pro2 Rev 2.0 RAM - CMX512-3200LLPT Proc - AMD 2800+ Barton Running memory at 6222 (in bios), and 166mhz (x2) Memtest and CpuZ show settings of 6232. I am getting random lockups/BSOD, and am failing memtest (just ran it and it failed in test #6, also is it supposed to almost lockup? I can't press any keys and the timer stops when it fails.) Wired
Try these timings: CAS Latency: 2 RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3 Row Precharge (tRP): 2 Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS):
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 2, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 2, 2005 I think with this MB you have to let the MB set the timings and I would set the Dim Over Violtage Control to +.2 Volts as well and then test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org to be sure! What do you mean you "have" to let the MB set the timings? If you mean that it doesn't have the ability, it does, its just a pain to get to. You have to hit Ctrl + F1 at the main bios screen. Then when you go into the screen with timings, the timing options are available to set individually. I will try each module individually when i get home from work. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 2, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 2, 2005 What I mean is; as I remeber this MB had an issue with the bios in that if you set the timings manually the system was not stable and you have to set the memory timings By SPD no matter what module you use. And XMS3200LL should have the Rass to Cass set to "3" not "2"!
mispulpfiction
I tried with the timings of 6232, and upped the voltage .2. It is still failing memtest. Wired
It's possible it may be the memory controller on the motherboard. Test other known working memory @ 166 Mhz in your board and/or your memory in a known working system to be safe.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 3, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 3, 2005 I would agree with Wired, that would suggest another problem. Can you test the modules in another system?
mispulpfiction
My friend said he would let me test on his system this weekend. I will let you know what the results are soon...
