Jedd
WinXP started to crash, so I decided to check my memory modules. I have 2 sticks of CMX256A-3200C2 bougth at the same time from googlegear (zipzoomfly.com now). I've created a bootable CD with Windows Memory Diagnostic, left only one stick in the first slot and it passed all the tests. Then I put the second one in the same slot and it fails WMATS+, INVC and LRAND tests (whatever they mean). So I think we have a winner of the RMA contest here. Is it ok to replace it? Thanks. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 1, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 1, 2005 Can you tell me the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
Jedd
Sure, It's MSI K7N2 Delta 2 with Athlon Mobile (x10.0) kept at 190 FSB. CPU runs at ~35 C. Memory voltage is 2.65, timing is 2.5-3-3-6 So it's nothing fancy, I try to keep it quiet (for HTPC and ocasional gaming). One stick is rock solid, second one is failing memtest in the same slot even at 166FSB.
