Possible Counterfeit Memory?

I'm wondering if I have counterfeit Corsair memory. I traded some stuff online for it, but not too sure. It seems a little suspicious to me, although I could be wrong.

The memory I have is the Corsair TwinX 1024MB PC3200 C2PT kit. Both of the sticks read XMS3202v5.1 and 0447027-2.

First of all, the heatspreaders don't fit properly. They don't seem to be attached well to the ends of the memory module because it doesn't look like they close all the way because the memory PCB is in the way. When sitting on the desk with the clips off, the modules are NOT flat...I'm guessing its because the heatspreaders aren't on properly.

As well, since the heatspreaders aren't attached to the modules on the end (the tape is still fresh on the ends), I could lift the heatspreaders at the end with ease and could see that the modules are Mosel made, not Samsung or anything like that. From what I hear, this kit should use Samsung TCCD...unless I'm wrong again.

Sorry for the delay,

The modules you have use ProMos IC's Rev A -5's to be exact.

on the PCB it should say or have printed Corsair in small white print as well.

However, we would be happy to inspect the modules for you and if they are our modules we would just replace them with a new set would be the best I could offer.

Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
