Overlook1617
I just purchased an Asus Prime Z270-a motherboard and a i7-7700k 1151 CPU. Also pick up your Hydro series H110i for cooling. The problem I'm having is the back plate does match the holes on the motherboard. It's says it's compatible with the 1151 socket. The bracket that holds down the cooler to the CPU looks to match the holes on the board. Any advice on how to correct the back plate problem? DevBiker
Are you using the correct backplate? The Intel cooler mountings haven't changed much, if at all, for a few generations now (at least since Sandy Bridge). Check out this video for some guidance as well: [ame] [/ame]. Corsair Employees Greybeard Posted December 1, 2017 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 1, 2017 H110i is compatible with Intel's socket 115x which includes Z270 boards. If the holes on the backplate of the cooler are not matching the board's, make sure to adjust them, they slide back and forth so that you can align them with the socket. The video that DevBiker posted above showed exactly how you install the backplate.
