Random errors of Computin'

Recommended Posts

Its been awhile since I first purchased the memory (about a year now)

But they[2 of the 4 modules] have been bad since the begining

At first I thought it was strange when I loaded the OpSys[winXP]

and was getting CDROM errors during the unpacking/installing of the cab files

But just had dismissed it as random glitches with the install

(even though I have installed using the same disk to other machines

before and after the one using the new memory)

Errors include Read/Write errors of the CDROM files and even to the point of the BSoD(Blue Screen of Death)

I had finially installed it successsfully once and later still found that while idle BSoDs would occur

I had tried to format and start over on the OpSys load but gave up eventually

So believing the problem to either exist with new motherboard Soyo SY-P41875P Dragon 2 (Plat Ed.) or the 2 sets of the CMX512-3200LLPT (XMS3205v1.2 0403013)

So I took the memory and Motherboard in to a store that can test components to have them individually tested and found that 2 of the 4 sticks were bad

Unfortunatly each of the two came from each of the sets

So I am guessing I need to return all 4

Let me know if you need more information, thanks

I would suggest we get it all 4 modules replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! Please notify the RMA department about your situation.
