KimL
Ram Guy, I purchased Corsair memory at Fry's last Thursday and it is bad. Unfortunately, Fry's is 200 miles away. Please help. Details: VS256MB133A, Lot# 0449096-0, 000057227. Computer: eMachines T1140 When I installed the new Corsair memory, the computer would not boot. The monitor remained black and nothing seemed to happen. The new memory was the only memory installed. When I removed the Corsair memory and reinstalled the original memory, the computer booted fine. Please help. Thanks, Kim
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 31, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 31, 2005 Most likely the chipset that you have is based on the Intel 440BX chipset or 810 chipset, which if you have 3 (440BX) or 2 (Intel i810) memory DIMM slots on your MB, and the maximum that you can install is 768MB PC133 SDR SDRAM modules, then the VS256MB133A will not work with your system, what you needed will be 2 or 3x256MB and the correct part/model# ill be VS256MB133, without the "A" on it, since that will indicate single sided memory module and your system will only support double sided memory modules. KimL
Thanks for the reply. The motherboard uses the Intel 82810E chipset. According to the motherboard user's guide: "Each DIMM socket supports the following memory features: 168-pin 3.3V DIMMs with gold-plated contacts; 100/133 MHz non-ECC unbuffered SDRAM; single or double sided DIMMs in the folloing sizes:...256MB 32 Mbit x 64bit. Please advise, as this would seem to conflict with your advise. Thanks.
