Maestro87
I just got a twin Pack of 512MB TwinX 3200C2PT sticks for my new system. I found the computer would not boot with both sticks in the computer. The system runs an Asus A8n-SLI Deluxe Mobo. I removed one stick and found the system ran just fine, with a memtest86 benchmark running for days on end. But as soon as I replaced the stick with another, I have had massive problems. I get many BSOD errors, including Bad Pool Caller errors. These errors dissappear with the good stick, yet fail with the bad one. Should I return both sticks to you for my RMA, or just send the one back, after all, they were a matched pack. Is this all I need to do to qualify me for an RMA request, the site mentions a contact in the forums with some sort of number,so that is the purpose of this post. I can garuntee the stick of RAM is bad, it wont even work in the other computer I own, even with relaxed CAS timings. Thanks, Chase D
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 2, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 2, 2005 Please put the memory modules on either slots 1&3 or 2&4; make sure that you have the latest BIOS installed for your MB; load optimized/set up default, and set the following BIOS settings; TwinX1024 or TwinX512-3200C2 Advanced CPU/Memory Configuration: Memclock Mode: Limit Memclock Value: 2:1 (DDR400) Bank Interleaving: 4/Enabled Burst Length: 8 SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T 2T Command Rate: Enabled ECC Configuration Master ECC Enabled: Disabled Jumper Free/Frequency Voltage Control: AI Overclock Tuner: Manual CPU FSB Clock: 200 DDR Voltage: 2.7 Volts All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let's make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
Maestro87
Hey thanks for the tips. I did just as you said. The good Dimm ran Memtest 45 times overnight for me without s single problem. The bad one, as I mentioned before, failed every time on test number seven. The list of errors is huge! Tons of the registers failed, leaving me with a list 200 errors long. Reset all the BIOS settings, relaxed all of the timings, updated the BIOS. I even tested it on another computer using the same methods. Just the same results. So, should I send in just the bad one or both from the twin pack? -Thanks for your help Chase Dearing

Maestro87
Since it is a matched pack (twin pack), should I return both sticks or just one? My RMA is currently being processed now, and I cant find if you should return both or just one. -Thanks for all your help, Corsair is the best! Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 4, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 4, 2005 I would suggest you send them as a pair if they were purchased as Twinx set!

Thanks, Chase D I have same Mobo and same memory but neither one of the sticks will work in dimm b1 slot as specified in mobo manual when using 1 module. I already have RMA'ed the mobo back to asus and they have stated that it is ok. Any suggestions????? Thanks.
