sephiro444
I'm putting together a machine with the following specs: Athlon FX-55 A8N-SLI Deluxe (Bios 1002) 2gb Corsair Twinx XMS 3200XLPT (2 of the 2x512 matched pairs) 1x eVGA Geforce 6800 Ultra pci-e Antec Neopower 480watt I set the memory to DDR400 (since I believe with 4 sticks it defaults to DDR333), and its timings to 2-2-2-5. I also adjusted the DDR voltage to 2.8 as was suggested by ramguy here. Things seem to run fine and WinXP and other software, but after leaving Memtest-86 v3.2 running for a night, it produced several errors in the same area of memory. My next step is to start pulling sticks out to see if it can be isolated. My question is, if I find which stick it is, should I rma it? Is there anything I could adjust that might make a difference (i.e., could it be something besides bad ram?)? Thanks, Sephiro444
Yellowbeard
If you do find that you have a bad stick in a TwinX pair, make sure to return both sticks. You will get a matched pair in return. Just for troubleshooting purposes, I'd suggest running the test overnite again with the timings at 2.5,3,3,7. Since you are running 4 sticks instead of 2, that may be the source of your errors. Mike.
