Roid Joe
System Specs: AMD 3400+ Chaintech VNF-250gb 754 Seagate 160gb sata Samsung CD drive Samsung Floppy Leadtek 6600gt I recently built a new PC and had problems with it. I initially put in the 1GIG of corsair ram i bought from zipzoomfly, which is Corsair VS1GBKIT400 1GB Kit DDR400 PC3200 CAS2.5 Value Select Memory Retail. It can be found here: https://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=80098-21 So this is the problem. When i initially put in the 1gig and tried to install windows it would give me a error. BDOS A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. Technical info *** STOP: 0X0000000A (0X00000804,0X00000602,0X00000000,0 X804E903) Beginning dump of physical memory Physical memory dump complete After a day of frustration thinking my computer was broken, i posted it on a forum. They told me that it was probably the RAM and to do a memtest. I didn't do the mem test, but i took the ram from DIMM1 and replaced it with the RAM in DIMM2. Windows loaded perfectly, and everything ran ok. Now, i tried to put the RAM that was originally in DIMM1 back into DIMM2, and i had problems with windows loaded. It would just load windows and reboot. I tried to put the ram that was originally in DIMM1 back into DIMM1 and it wouldn't even load windows. So what i'm stuck with now is a good 512mb of ram and a defective (i think) 512mb of ram, unless of course it is a bios problem. Now my question is, can i RMA 1 of those 512mb chips even if i bought it in a dual pack? I don't want to have to return both, as i am currently attending a university and it is necessary that i have access to my computer. I just want to RMA one of the dimms, though i did buy it in a dual pack form. Is this at all possible? Thanks
