daspudding
hello, i own a corsair void wireless 7.1 surround sound headphone. in the CUE there is this option to enable dolby or stereo, now when dolby is 'enabled' it sounds normal, but when i enable stereo it sounds like my headphones are in 7.1 surround, even tho it says stereo. are the corsair void always in 7.1 surround or only when dolby surround is on, or is dolby surround only for better quality? Comet 1626864951
I would expect that Dolby Surround would enable decoding of files that are encoded with multi-track audio information, and that Stereo would simply put the two tracks (left/right) into the respective earcups. Now if your stereo file was prepared using HRTF transform, then it may well sound exactly identical to you as a surround-sound file would, since the soundwaves for each of the two speakers would be identical. If you attach an example of a sound file to your post, other people will be able to investigate and replicate your experience more definitively.
