smoothie
Just bought a Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-9 Ultra and some TwinX 3200XL PRO DDR. Unfortunately, the mobos memory slots have no gaps between them and the PRO sticks are too wide to fit into adjacent slots (it's the raised XMS logo that's causing the problem)! I want to replace them with some TwinX 3200XLPT DDR but the supplier, http://www.dabs.com, appear to be reluctant to take the sticks back. It seems we're in a grey area as far as "fit for purpose" goes. I am wondering what Corsairs position on this is as I'm none too pleased at the moment. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 26, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 26, 2005 The slots are really close, but you should be able to install them. However, if the reseller will not help you with this I would suggest you send email to our Customer Service with a copy of the form or all of your info name address and phone# and the Module part# and copy the link to this post and email it to Rma@corsairmemory.com. And explain the issue to them, I am sure they will do their best to help you get this resolved. If after 1 day or 24 hours excluding weekends you do not get the rma please email the same to warranty@corsairmemory.com and we will help to resolve it. I agree they "should" fit but they are about 1-2mm too wide due to the raised XMS logo on the sides (width across the top is OK) - remember, there is NO gap between the slots on this mobo. Even if I was prepared to shoe-horn the two modules in and risk damaging them, I certainly couldn't fit another two next to them later. Sadly, I will have to replace them with some thinner 3200XLPTs. smoothie
I am sorry too hear that! But please let me know how you make out! I tried the other pair of PROs I bought at the same time and they fit OK - looks like it's a manufacturing issue rather than a design issue.
