Tryinghard
When I overclock my FSB over 230 I get graphics corruption (tearing) in Nvidia 6800 demos (nalu, timbury & sailing) and far cry. I've tested the memory with memtest and it passes ok. Other than the graphics problem my system is rock stable. I've also tested with memory as 333MHz and then overclocked the FSB up to 240 so CPU runs at 3.8GHz and memory runs at 200 with no problems, but whatever way I try running things if the memory goes over 230/460 I get corruptions and the higher I go over 230 the worse the corruption gets. At first I thought I had a problem with my graphics card but it works ok in another pc, also checked the agp clock and it's locked at 66.7/33.5 Bios Settings (Bios ver 3.a) Frequency/Voltage Control Performance Mode: Normal DOT Range: Disabled DOT Mode: CPU Only CPU Ratio Selection: Locked DRAM Frequency (MHz): Auto Spread Spectrum: Disabled Adjust CPU Bus Clock (MHz): 240 DDR Clock (MHz): 480 Adjust AGP/PCI Clock (MHz): 66.66/33.33 CPU VCore Adjust: Yes CPU Voltage: 1.6250V DDR Power Voltage: 2.85V AGP Power Voltage: 1.50V DRAM Timings: Not Set By SPD (3-4-4-8) Burst Length 8 This memory should run at 250 FSB please can you help me. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 25, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 25, 2005 Well the CPU you have may not reach that high of an Over Clock. You might check the S-Spec of the CPU against the data base of CPU's at http://www.overclockers.com. But average is about 220-230 Mhz for that CPU! I've sent you an email with more info but in short I tried setting the DDR Clock to 501 (4:5) and the CPU Clock to 200 but I still get graphics corruption only now it's worse. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 27, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 27, 2005 Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB and load Setup/optimized default settings, and try the following BIOS settings; TwinX1024 or TwinX512-4000 Advanced Chipset/DRAM Configuration Configure Dram timing by SPD: Disabled/User define SDRAM CAS Latency: 3T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 4T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 4T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8T SDRAM Burst Length: 8 beats SDRAM Bank Interleave: 4 banks SDRAM Command Rate: 2T SDRAM Spread Spectrum: Enabled Frequency voltage control: CPU Freq: 200 DRAM Clock: 400 MHz AGP/PCI Freq: 66/33 Memory or Dim Reference voltage: 2.8/2.85 Volts AGP Voltage: 1.65 volts All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
