domsmith
My new TwinX XL Pro 2-2-2-5 Xtra low latency ram 2x512 wont run at 200mhz stable in my gigabyte GA-K8NS Ultra 939. http://www.giga-byte.com/MotherBoard/Products/Products_GA-K8NS%20Ultra-939.htm I am currently running the latest release bios for that board bios F5. If I run it with the settings on Auto it defaults to 2-4-5 memory timings instead of 2-2-5. It will run at 200Mhz in windows fine but once you try and load and play a game or something intensive it will crash out within a few minutes. Even if i manually set it to 2-2-5 it will crash out. This application has encountered a critical error: FATAL ERROR! Program: e:\my games\warcraft iii\war3.exe Exception: 0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 001B:6F02F078 The instruction at '0x6F02F078' referenced memory at '0x00000034'. The memory could not be 'read'. It works fine without any errors completely stable for days running at 166Mhz but that defeats the purpose of buying the 2-2-2-5 XL Pro Ram. I don't want to run it at DDR333 speeds. Any suggestions on how to get it working at DDR400.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 24, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 24, 2005 Please try the modules in slots 1-2 and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Over Voltage control to +.2 Volts and then test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org to be sure one is not failing. And with this MB I would just let the bios set the timings!
