Dillon
I've been having trouble with the Abit AV8 and VS1GBKIT400C3 2x512. While trying to install a WinXP I get a BSD at different times giving all kinds of errors. I'm going to try uping the voltage to 2.7 at lunch. Is there anything else that I should do? Am I correct that the sticks should be in slots 1 & 3?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 21, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 21, 2005 The modules should be in slots 1-2 or 3-4 with this MB and I would test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and lets make sure one is not failing! Dillon
I actually have them in 1 & 2 right now, but thought they might need to be split up. I'm burning memtest and will try it at lunch.

Dillon
Both sticks past memtest86 without a problem. I noticed that the Abit AV8 was set to 204Mhz as the default and changed it to 200Mhz. After that I was able to load Windows. I'll work on it more when I get home, but it was still running fine when I left the house at lunch. Thanks for the help and if it starts up again I'll let you know.
