Carbide Air 540

Recommended Posts

I have to replace my Carbide 500R for space problems. (H115i touches and folds 8Pin connectors to power cpu).

I'm going to buy the Carbide Air 540 but I have some doubts:

- H115i fit on the top?

- Will there be enough space between the motherboard ATX and AIO?

Thank you

Definitely plenty of room with single fans, even if you have massive top heatsink and plug. Z87/97 is not so bad, bu the extra width on the 280mm makes push-pull a little dicier. I cannot on Asus X99's for the same power plug issue. However, you should not need push-pull and a single set of fans can do all the needed cooling at relatively low speeds. In a cool, breezy case. Definitely one of my favorites. I liked the 740 enough to buy it as well. It is a little bit taller, but it also addresses some of the common criticisms of the older 540.

Thank you for the answers.

The Carbide 740 is very nice, but it's too high and I do not have enough space.

I had doubts about whether to install H115i on the top, because in the 500R carbide the H110I GTX even though it had the 280mm radiator did not match the holes.

On Saturday I'm going to pick up the Carbide 540.
