Asus A8N-SLI and issue with twinx1024-3200XLPT

Ok, I am trying to run twinx1024-3200XLPT (2 x 512) on an Asus A8N-SLI with Athlon 64 3000+ Winchester with 2 XFX 6600GTs in SLI mode. I also have a 550 watt enermax power supply. Also, I am running at stock timings and I haven't tried to overclock. The issue is that every time I put the memory into the primary blue slots on the board, the computer won't post and says system failed memory test. I discovered after much trial and error that I can get into xp when I run both sticks in the secondary slots (which are black). On my computer properties under the general tab, it says physical address extentsion under the memory listing. I don't know what this means. CPU-Z says the sticks are running at 2-2-2-5-t1 timmings and in dual channel mode. I have tried adjusting the timings up to 3-4-4-10-t1 and it still won't boot off the primary slots. Also, one of the sticks of memory appears to have three gold leads that are damaged. Could that be the cause, and if so, should I rma it? I bought it at newegg.com. I have experienced random instability since then including numerous blue screens of death. Some occurred when installing and using alcohol 120% to mount cd images. Also, when I exit UT 2004, I get a BSOD and have to restart the computer. Is this ram compatiable with the asus A8N-SLI? It is not on the list printed in the motherboard manual.

I tried the new corsair ram on my old soyo motherboard and played around with it for a while. I did not have any of the errors that I encountered on the newer asus motherboard but I only tried it for an hour or two. I played some games and it appeared to be stable. The timings were slower though due to the athlon xp 2100+ but that is to be expected. It appears that either the board doesn't like that type of ram or the damaged leads are causing random errors. What do you think?

I took the memory out of the board today and discovered that one of the gold leads that fell off the memory was still in the slot under the memory. Apparently, the lead fell off the memory and shorted out the primary memory slots on the motherboard. I tried the good stick of memory in it and the stick of memory from my old computer with no luck. I am going to rma the ram and also the motherboard. I am disappointed that I ended up getting such low quality memory for the price that I payed for it.
