I know the MB by default will try to run the memory at DDR333 when you install more than 2 modules. But the MB is to new to know if it will run at DDR400 with 4 modules. I would suggest Twinx2048-3200C2 for best performance with 2.0 Gig of memory!

I know this is an old thread, but I have 2 gig of 3200xl (2 x TWINX1024-3200XL) and it works fine

I ran memetest for 8 or 9 hours and not one error with the cpu set to 5% overclock.

It has an fx55 now running at 2730.77 with 1.54 volts and mem is at 210Mhz at 2.70v

I have run 35 mark 05 at over 10200 multiple times and aquamark gives me 89900 to 90200 and the second run on doom3 gives me 120 to 122 fps, first run is in the 80's.

The 2 BFG 6800Ultra's help with that

I really havent done any tweaking except bumping the fsb to 210 using the ai overclocking feature to 5% on the mobo

Oh and by the way half life 2 plays great along with bf42 and bfvietnam

I too have the Asus A8n-E mobo. (I get it Wednesday, along with my CPU and Video card!) I just need to order memory...

I am planing on using the Twin2048-3200c2PT memory... is there any difference over the Twin2048-3200c2? I am guessing the PT just stands for it being a Twin2048-3200c2 that has platnum colored heat sinks.

I wil be doing video editing with this machine.

My rig:

Li Lan PC case black

Antec True 400 power supply

Asus A8N-E mobo

AMD64 3800+ Vinece core (with SEE3) CPU

2 gigs of --> Twin2048-3200c2PT <---------if that is the best bet for the $

eVGA 6600GT PCI-E video card 128 meg

BenQ 1620 Pro DVD dual layer burner

TDK 1040i (I think) single layer DVD +/-R/RW (my old drive)

120 gig 7200 maxtor C drive

SATA150 Maxtor 250 gig HD (The high end series line...5 year warranty)

Windows XP Pro (SP2?? <--it's not on the net so doubt I will install it, as it slows the system down!)

Main programs used:

Adobe video collection

Adobe Photoshop CS (Soon to be CS2!)

A 3d program yet to be named

Do you think this memory will work well in this situation?

Whats all this talk about the timings... I have to set my cas speeds? Or can I just pop in the memory and go... like I have always done? I want it to run in the "double speed mode!"

I am not into overclocking! I want pure speed and stability. :D:

While this won't be the fastest rig every, it should be fast and stable. :D:

Thanks for the help Ram Man!
