greeves
I've had my 200ex for about 5 months cooling my 3.0e - standard installation. Idle temperatures have been 34-36c, and under load never exceeding 45c. Sometimes idle temperatures went as low as 32c. Recently my idle temperatures jumped to 37-39c, and under load it's been up to 52c. My room temperature is always around 75f. The water seems to be flowing the same as when I first set it up. I went ahead and flushed the system... filling up with 2 parts sierra pg coolant 1 part distilled water. I also cleaned the radiator fins with canned air. That didn't remedy the problem. Any suggestions? The temperatures are still acceptable, but it really bothers me that there was a sudden increase.. and I sure like keeping that load temp at 45c. KaptCrunch
Greeves sounds you may have air in the system. takes me 1/2 hour to burp my system. by having the rez in the highest point an WB lowest with case on its right side(looking from front) run only the HCX then put in all angles, if you have cover off u'll see the air move

Re-applied some arctic silver 5, and started up the system... temps are still high =(. The temp of the water block (displayed on the hydrocool) hasn't increased.. always sits around 26-27c. Bio-Hazard
That's a typo on Stev's part, the HC uses a 33% mixture. 1 part of PG to 2 parts DW. Pretty simple math really. read the instruction that came with the kit. The bottle of PG that came with your kit is the correct amount for your system for one use, the remainder is DW. I guess we need a math class here.

Perhaps a moderator should consider deleting threads containing invalid information, and making a sticky of the proper method for flushing the hydrocool system. The thread that I linked above is what I found when I came to this site looking for information on flushing my system. The thread ends with the creator of the thread defending that "stev" meant pg:water 2:1. Is it a complex process to edit a post? If that's incorrect then it needs to be edited ASAP. I, for one, do not have hours to read through all of the threads just to find out the correct mixture required by my cooling system. Obviously I don't have the instructions that came with the system at the moment or I would have most certainly read through them before coming to this site seeking help. I paid $200 for a cooling system, and I expect the manufacturer to provide a website with blatantly clear information regarding the maintenance of it. But, HEY, thanks for your sarcasm! It definately helped return my cpu temperature to normal.
stev
greeves, Not my type-o, but KaptCrunch's. All of my posts state 33% Propylene Glycol to 66% distilled water. :winking: Stev
