deBrus
Hello, I am currently in charge of an older Compaq ProLiant DL320. This machine has been getting blue screen memory parity errors. Configuration: 800 MHz P-III w/ 512 Mb 2 - Corsair CM766S256-133 Started working with machine 1 month ago. The system was made available since it was reported as "having problems" without specific details. I observed blue screen memory parity errors 1 or more times daily. Most common was when when machine was idle. Occaasionally while when running software test builds. Steps taken to isolate problem. All work done observing proper anti-static precautions. Re-seat memory. - No effect. Use different sockets - No effect. Bring BIOS to current version and use default settings. - No effect. Swap out individual modules. - Identified module when installed, errors are seen. No errors seen when this module not installed. Tried each module individually, errors only seen with identified module. Have run without identified module for 2+ weeks without error. Conclusion: Identified module is bad. Compaq reseller no longer available for RMA return. Going to manufacturer. Please advise on next steps needed to replace defective module. Best regards, Bruce McPeek Vidiator Technology (US) Inc.
