dgsam
ok system and settings then situation: Epox RD8A+ nForce2 motherboard, Windows XP Pro sp2, 256 mb nVidia 5700LE video card, a month and a half running AthlonXP 3000+ barton core, two years previous ran AthlonXP 2500+ barton core, was using two sticks CMX512 - 3200C2 (both 'XMS3202 v1.2...0329007') in dual channel (128bit). 333Mhz fsb 1.835Ghz = 166 x 11.0 while using the 2500+ and 400Mhz fsb 2.100 = 200 x 10.5 while using the 3000+. Timings were mostly 7-3-3-2.5 though optimised default bios settings I reverted to after installing latest bios are 8-3-3-2.5. Voltages are: CPU Core 1.68 V +5 V 4.84 V +12 V 12.28 V -12 V -12.61 V -5 V -5.50 V +5 V Standby 4.87 V VBAT Battery 3.10 V vdd 1.6 dimm 2.77 I started getting blue screen stop errors and and an online game I play would crash noislessly and ever more frequently. I only installed and ran prime 95 just today and ran it for a half hour or so and it indicated a hardware fault but that was after reading my eyes bloody about winXP stop errors, doing virus and spyware scans, getting and installing latest mobo bios and video card drivers, checking all connections and reinstalling the game I mentioned, and sprinkling chicken blood around the room so at that point I felt like I had pretty much narrrowed it down to hardware or a need to sacrifice something higher yet on the food chain. (here puppy puppy) Finally and in dread I checked what my research had indicated was probably the problem and ran the system with both sticks installed but not in dual channel configuration and also with just one or the other stick. Both sticks in single channel made no dicernable improvement but 1 stick and everything ran and is still running flawlessly....if you use the right stick....the other will seldom boot past the memory count/post/del to enter setup display and if it does it will without fail get a blue screenstop error. I tried all three slots multiple times each with the same results. I was going to make a hood ornament or a fishing lure out of it because I was ignorant of the lifetime warranty until I came to Corsair.com to price a replacement. I love the performance of this memory and I was not about to do without the amount I have been using . I most humbly request an RMA I have one concern though. I received these modules as a gift brand new and in the factory packaging when I was building this system. My grandmother purchased them for me at a Frye's in Phoenix and shipped them to me. She has since passed away and I have no receipt nor other proof of purchase. Is this going to pose a problem?
