bchild784
This is what i am running: P4 3.0ghz on an Asus p4p-800 Deluxe with 2 512mb twinx cmx512-3200LLPT. The BIOS is current. I haven't had any problems until recently while playing a game. I tested both sticks and found 4 errors. I then tested them individually. One stick had no reported errors and the other had 34 errors. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you. Blake
bchild784
Last night i decided to run another test on the stick that didn't have any reported errors. I again, ran memtest86 for a little over 6hrs and it came back with 2 errors on the stick that previously didn't have any. Does this mean that both sticks are bad? Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 18, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 18, 2005 Can you tell me the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
bchild784
It is a 3.0gzh with 800fsb. The BIOS settings are all untouched. Let me know if you want any specific readings from the BIOS.
bchild784
last night i ran a memtest again on the bad stick. It came back with over 800k errors?!? Did i do something wrong? Right as it started the test, errors started running up. I thought something else may have cause it but then i put in the good stick and it just reported the 2 errors that it had previously. I have run both sticks in slot one. what's going on?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 19, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 19, 2005 Please load setup defaults in the bios setup and set the following settings. System Performance: Auto MAM: Auto Memory Frequency: 400 Mhz Dim Voltage to 2.75 Volts SDRAM CAS Latency: 2T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 2T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T Then please disable legacy USB and test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org. But getting errors on both modules would suggest some other problem.

bchild784
first i realized that i entered something wrong. Once i got the correct config that you sent me i again ran the test on what i thought was the good stick and got zero errors through 3 passes. I then put the bad stick back in and ran it. I got 5 errors on test 2, 47 errors on test 3, zero on 4, 7,402 on 5, zero on 6, 7, and 8. I got all of these errors on the first pass. What should i do next?
