sacaruso
Dear I bought, three weeks ago, four computers with Corsair Value Select Ram “VS512MB400 Lot:0449128-0” from our reseller (All PC Inc – Miami). One of them just hang after boot. I switch this memory card between the others computers and all of them fail in the same way with the suspected memory, Just hang after booting process and sometimes this happened while I running the bios setup program ( it completely freeze) So, only one memory card is in bad condition and I want to exchange it for another one The four computers has the following hardware ASUS A7S8X-MX AMD Athlon XP 2700 (FSB=333) Corsair VS512MB400 Lot:0449128-0 Samsung 40 Gb Floppy 3.5 ASUS CD 52X FSB clock = 166 Ram Speed = 166 Every configuration on the motherboard setup program is selected by SPD and there isn’t any performace upgrades Remember, this memory card fails on each computer I had tested with the same hardware and the other three corsair memories works fine Please, give me the ID# to fill the RMA Form!! Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 17, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 17, 2005 Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB and load Setup/Optimized default settings, and try the following BIOS settings; VS1GBKIT400 or VS512MB400 CPU Freq: 166 MHz (333 FSB) System Performance: User Define Memory Frequency: 100% Resulting Frequency: 166 MHz (333 FSB) Memory Timing: User Define SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8T DDR Reference Voltage: 2.7 Volts AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI (9200 or 9600) or NVIDIA (5200 or 5700) then 1.6 Volts suggested!* All other settings are motherboards defaults Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
sacaruso
Is this a joke? I lost 5 days playing in this forun, I have a customer waiting for his memory... The ASUS A7S8X-MX has no options to setup the memory in the way that you are telling me. Do you know something about this motherboard?. There are four options (by SPD, 100, 133, 166) that's all. Also, I tested the memory card with MEMTEST86 v 1.40 and it fail at several addresses. Can you tell me the number that I must use to fill the RMA form? Remember, ONLY ONE memory card fail out of four . Please, help me!
