davej
Can you tell me the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well that you have on your system? In addition, please tell me the BIOS settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set? with your product installed the fsb was 400. dram clock@ spd, bios settings, tried all voltages and had to use the inset key to get to setup with the bad stick installed. With the good stick = boot to win. The bad stick had a kind of gritty feeling type of feel when inserting it in the socket. The good one doesn't. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 17, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 17, 2005 Please make sure that you install the memory modules on either slots 1&3 or 2&3 and also have the latest BIOS installed for your MB, load Setup/optimized default settings and try the following BIOS settings; TwinX1024 or TwinX512-3200C2 Softmenu Setup CPU Freq: 200 DRAM Clock: 400 CPU/Memory ratio: 1:1 or 3:3 Memory or Dim Reference voltage: 2.7/2.75 Volts AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI (9200 or 9600) or NVIDIA (5200 or 5700) then 1.6 Volts suggested!* Advanced/Chipset Configure Dram timing by SPD: Disabled/User define SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure! Been there done that...no t-shirt. The one stick will not get thru post Cannot run memtest, only produces a long beep. When the lights on that stick start, a single yellow in the middle is the start of the sequence, not the 2 greens at the one end like its mate that works.
