revahi
Corsair CMX1024RE-3200 (TwinX 2GB Matched memory pair ECC) with Asus SK8N Socket 940 and AMD Athlon FX-53. This version of CPU required ECC Ram I was told by the sales this is the best match. But there is a problem installed XP SP1 OK but then system stuck in a power cycle boot this even in safe mode. I checked with the Windows Memory diagnostic (download availble from http://www.majorgeeks.com) which I've accurately diagnosed and fixed Windows problems which were memory related before. This test fails every one every time. Even one module tried swapping around (I have 2 such pairs for total of 4GB) NG. The BIOS revision is latest (1007) Unlikely that both sets of RAM is faulty. Any ideas?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 19, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 19, 2005 If you are getting failures with both sets; or all 4 modules one up that would suggest some other problem. I would try and load setup defaults and then enable master ECC and set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts and please try http://www.memtest.org. If that does not solve the problem, I would try and RMA the MB or CPU because it would be very unlikely that you would get 4 failing modules. Darn near impossible.
