tecknotot
Hi all and thanks ahead of time. I recently upgraded my motherboard to a ASUS ROG Maximus IX Hero and it has a new USB 3.1/Type-C front header. 1. Is USB 3.1 and Type-C the same thing? 2. Does Corsair currently sell a panel to support USB 3.1 or Type-C with this case? 3. Is there a way I can replace my current front external panel to support this new tech? Administrators Technobeard Posted January 26, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 26, 2017 1. TO THE GOOGLE! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_3.1 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB-C If a product implements USB Type-C, it does not necessarily support USB 3.1... http://www.usb.org/developers/usbtypec/USB_Type-C_Language_Product_and_Packaging_Guidelines_FINAL.pdf The USB Type-C cable and connector specification is a supplement to the USB 3.1 specification, however USB Type-C is not USB 3.1. These terms are not interchangeable. 2. No. 3. The I/O panels are replaceable, however I've never heard of a 3rd party make an I/O panel for our cases.
