mrxp-tbc
In August, my company purchased 2GB paired RAM from your company for use in our server. All was well until 12/23 when the machine suddenly stopped responding. We were unable to get the machine to boot up before we inserted different memory, only to see it start up again with ease. Since then we have not seen the memory boot up a single machine, regardless to whether the sticks are installed together or separately. However, as the original purchase was made in August, it is well outside of Newegg.com (our reseller)'s return or refund policies. So I just want to know how I go from here? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 14, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 14, 2005 Can you tell me the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
mrxp-tbc
The motherboard was a Asus P4P800-E Deluxe. We used default bios settings, so no overclocking was ever attempted on this machine. The bios details we do not have, but again we didn't change anything in the bios period. Here are the processor specs, Intel Pentium 4/ 3.0E GHz 800MHz FSB, 1MB L2 Cache, Hyper Threading Technology. Model# BX80546PG3000E Specifications: Model: Intel Pentium 4 w/ Hyper Threading Core: Prescott Operating Frequency: 3.0GHz FSB: 800MHz Cache: L1/12K+16K; L2/1MB Voltage: 1.25V - 1.525V Process: 0.09Micron Socket: Socket 478 Multimedia Instruction: MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 Thanks. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 19, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 19, 2005 Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB and load Setup/optimized default settings, and try the following BIOS settings; TwinX1024 or TwinX512-3200PT Advanced/Jumper Free AI over clocking: Manual CPU Freq: 200 DRAM Clock: 400 MHz Memory or Dim Reference voltage: 2.75 Volts System performance: AUTO AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI (9200 or 9600) or NVIDIA (5200 or 5700) then 1.6 Volts suggested!* Advanced/Chipset Configure Dram timing by SPD: Disabled/User define SDRAM CAS Latency: 3T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8T SDRAM Burst Length: 8 Memory Acceleration Mode: Auto USB Legacy Support: Disabled All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
