campbell
I have been using 1 Gb RAM (Corsair XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series 184 Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-3200) and things have been running great. I just added another 1 Gb of the same RAM and things seem to be running a little slower. Should that be happening or is it just my imagination. Here is the rest of my system: Intel "D875PBZLK FMB 1.5" i875P Chipset Motherboard for Intel Socket 478 Pentium 4 Extreme Edition CPUIntel Pentium 4/ 3.2C GHz 800MHz FSB, 512K Cache, Hyper Threading TechnologyWestern Digital 120GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive, Model WD1200JDThermaltake Silent PurePower 560W Power Supply for AMD and Intel ATX 12V, Model "W0023" Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS PCI Sound Card, Model "SB0350"nVidia GeForce 3 graphics card What do you think? Is there a way to check to see if the extra RAM is making things faster? Sounds silly...well, it is silly, but I thought I would ask. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 11, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 11, 2005 Actually more memory will slow things down to a point. But you can run Everest 1.5 on your system and see how it performs.
